Blue Water Music Festival Celebrates Michigan Music
Four bands from across the Great Lakes State converge on The Strutt July 17th and 18th
Four Michigan bands will share one roof over a two day period July 17th and 18th at
The Strutt located at 773 W. Michigan Ave, in downtown Kalamazoo. The Blue Water Music Festival was created by
Royal Jester Productions to celebrate the variety of music Michigan has to offer at a cheap price, both nights will only cost $4.
Kalamazoo's own
Toro & The National Guard will headline day one with Grand Rapids-based
The Wildfire opening the evening. Toro formed in 2006 and has since taken on a few different incarnations to perfect their americana/folk sound. Their self-produced album At Grand Inn has received rave reviews. Playing with them is The Wildfire, an energetic, southern-tinged rock and roll band playing the first of several Kalamazoo shows to come.
Headlining the second night will be rock n rollers,
Total Blam Blams. The Blam Blams are fresh off their second performance at Founder's Fest and continue to grow a dedicated following through their high-energy, engrossing live shows.
Jealous Radio, a Kalamazoo-based quartet combining classic rock songwriting, punk energy, and pop music-experimentalism will open the evening around 9:30pm.
The show is presented by Royal Jester Productions, a Kalamazoo-based concert booking and promotions company dedicated to revitalizing the Kalamazoo music scene, and
WIDR 89.1FM, the Western Michigan University student-run, independent radio station. WIDR DJs will be spinning before and in between sets.
Tickets are just $4.00 at the door, all adults ages 18 and up are welcome. Visit myspace.com/royaljestermidwest for information and updates.
