Episode Episode 64: Sweet Home Chicago

Episode 64: Sweet Home Chicago

What began as a nostalgic episode for my home state of Michigan has snowballed into a month long project involving nearly every Guest DJ. Guest DJs Marc Consolazio, Dirty Dub, Logan Ryan Smith, and I will be tackling some of the finer music cities in the nation starting with my tip of the cap to sweet home Chicago. New York, New Orleans, and the great state of California are all on tap next.

Though it was amazingly difficult not to simply do a blues episode, I managed to squeeze in some variations... with a shit ton of blues. With a musical history as vast as Chicago's it's quite impossible to fit every artist into an hour long podcast, but I'd like to think this is a damn fine start. It stretches from one of the innovators of modern music as we know it with Big Bill Broonzy up to some of the contemporary prides of Chicago, Andrew Bird, and Wilco.

However, there are bound to be some left out. Who would you have added? Who's a "must have" that's missing? Feel free to leave a comment below or drop a line on Facebook or Twitter and let me know. Maybe we'll do Chicago Part 2. In the meantime, snuggle up to a hot dog with an amazing amount of fixins, some deeeeeep dish pizza, and maybe a 312 and enjoy!
