Summer has shown its beautiful face at long last here in Chicago and this week's playlist is the first of many to be made in the spirit of barbeques, days at the beach, driving with the windows down and breaking the sandals out of the back of the closet. Some artists may be a familiar site to regular readers,
Michael Bellar/The As-Is Ensemble was the
Featured Artist back on
August 13th, and
Luke Winslow-King has what's been the most popular
Live on Some Kind of Jam album to date. Others such as the absolutely spectacular jazz guitarist
Grant Green and blues God
John Lee Hooker are making much overdue first appearances on the podcast. All of these artists, in one way or another, remind me of summer and all the fine times that come with it.
There are a few requests on the back burner right now that I wasn't able to get to this week, but they'll be in the next episode. As per usual, if you have any requests feel free to send em along on
Facebook or
Twitter.
